The Popup Library, a kind of ideal library, offers a glimpse of the exhibition project and of what artists and curators are reading. By revealing their Popup Library, they offer us an intimate and personal insight into their perspective on the exhibition, inspired by references but also by simple resonances, whether these be musical, cinematographic, poetic, literary or scientific. Not only can every Popup Library be physically viewed in the Frac’s documentation center on the third floor for the duration of the exhibition, but since the vast majority of the referenced books in these libraries have been acquired by the documentation center, all of the Popup Libraries created over the course of the exhibition program can viewed in their entirety. Thanks to the Popup Libraries, the shelves of the documentation center reveal the inexhaustible richness of the works that influence the contemporary art actors that are artists and curators.
